Our First Day at the Valparaiso Farmers Market
We didn't know what to expect from our first day at the Valparaiso Farmers Market. Honestly? we spent the days before it wondering whether anyone would be interested in what we had to offer. We needn't have worried, and the relief of that is something we owe entirely to you. The morning brought a steady stream of visitors, all of them curious and kind; we feel genuinely lucky to be part of a community that understands what we're doing here, which this season meant herbs we'd spent months growing and the pleasure of handing them to the people who'd use them.
We've lived in Valparaiso for almost six years. When we first arrived, a woman at Tudor Carpets told us we'd love it here, that it's a kind and gentle place; experiencing that for ourselves at the market made it feel true in a way we hadn't expected.
We're only doing a few market days this summer while we find our sea legs (one more on June 27th), but we'll be back in August with fresh tomatoes, peppers and herbs from the garden in addition to more of our bestselling Garden Herb & Roses posies.
And to everyone who asked about Pete's focaccia: we heard you, and we're working on it.
Thank you, truly. We're glad to be growing here.
