Grocery store peppers are bred for uniformity and shelf life. We grow 47 pepper varieties sourced from around the world, from Italian frying peppers and Peruvian aji to Caribbean superhots. Every variety is selected for flavor, culinary character, and the kind of heat that actually tastes like something.

Yes. Peppers love heat, and our summers provide enough warmth for habaneros and even superhots like the Chocolate Trinidad Scorpion to fruit. Start seedlings indoors early (late February for superhots) and transplant after the soil warms. The growing tips card included with each seedling covers timing and care for our zone.

We grow across the full spectrum. Jimmy Nardello and King Arthur are completely sweet with zero heat. Aji Amarillo sits in the medium range (30,000-50,000 SHU), comparable to cayenne. Velociraptor habanero runs 150,000-220,000 SHU. And the Chocolate Trinidad Scorpion reaches 800,000-1,300,000 SHU, putting it among the hottest peppers in the world. Every seedling comes with a growing tips card that includes Scoville information.

Wear gloves whenever you prune, transplant, or harvest super hot peppers, and avoid touching your face, eyes, or any sensitive skin afterward. Capsaicin oil from peppers above 500,000 SHU can transfer from your hands to surfaces and stay potent for hours, even after washing. When pruning suckers or harvesting Chocolate Trinidad Scorpion, use disposable gloves, work in a ventilated area, and wash tools and cutting boards with dish soap and warm water immediately after. If oil contacts your skin, wash with dish soap rather than water alone, since capsaicin is oil-soluble and water alone will not remove it.

We also offer pickup at select locations announced at checkout. Delivery is to your door, scheduled around weather and planting windows so your seedlings arrive ready to go in the ground.

Yes. Pandemonium Planting is our flat-fee planting service for customers who want their seedlings put in the ground for them. For $25, we deliver and plant your seedlings at the right depth, in the right spot, with proper spacing and watering. The service is available within a 20-mile radius of Valparaiso, Indiana and can be added to any seedling order at checkout.

Pandemonium Gardens Seedling Care is our season package that includes four scheduled visits to your garden, with staking, fertilizing, and pruning at each visit. If a seedling fails to establish within the first two weeks of planting, we replace it at no additional cost. Visits are timed around key points in the tomato growth cycle, when staking, suckering, and feeding make the difference between a good harvest and a great one. Equipment such as stakes, cages, and fertilizer is not included. Available within a 20-mile radius of Valparaiso, Indiana.
